India sends emergency medical supplies for Ebola outbreak response in Congo

Business To Business, Johannesburg, 28th May, 2026:   India has sent emergency pharmaceutical and medical supplies to help contain the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo), according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
In a social media update, Africa CDC said the consignment—donated by India—was received in Uganda by its Eastern Africa Regional Coordinating Centre before being deployed for use in affected areas.
The supplies reportedly include essential diagnostics, therapeutics, infection prevention and control materials, and case management support. These resources are intended to strengthen outbreak response efforts in eastern DR Congo, where health authorities are working to contain the spread of Ebola.
The move is part of broader international assistance efforts aimed at improving rapid response capacity during infectious disease outbreaks in the region.
