The package of agreements reflects the broadening of India's engagement with the strategically located Indian Ocean nation through enhanced collaboration in security, connectivity, capacity building and development partnership.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the outcomes include an extradition treaty, an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space, and an accord to facilitate the introduction of UPI-based digital payments in Seychelles.
The two sides also signed an umbrella line of credit agreement with the Export-Import Bank of India to support development projects and an agreement covering preliminary preparations for the construction of a new Seychelles National Hospital.
The agreements are aimed at strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two countries by enhancing cooperation in infrastructure development, healthcare, financial connectivity, scientific collaboration and maritime security.
The outcomes underscore India's continued commitment to supporting Seychelles' development priorities while reinforcing cooperation in the Indian Ocean region under the two countries' strategic partnership.
