Indian mango varieties now available at retail chains in Greater Seattle

Business To Business, New Delhi, 16th May 2026: The sweet aroma of the ‘Kesar’ variety of Indian mangoes is now reaching consumers in Seattle, with select stores stocking the popular fruit and attracting food enthusiasts eager for authentic Indian flavours.
A year-long initiative by the Consulate General of India in Seattle helped pave the way for several varieties of Indian mangoes to enter retail chains such as Costco in the region.
The presence of Indian mangoes in the United States traces back to 2006, when then US President George W Bush approved the import of the fruit into the American market.
The decision was widely celebrated in India and coincided with the landmark announcement of progress toward the India-US Civil Nuclear Agreement.
The renewed push for Indian mango exports is seen as part of broader efforts to expand agricultural trade and promote Indian produce internationally.
