Jaishankar meets Mongolian FM to review strategic partnership progress

Business To Business, London, 22nd June, 2026:  S. Jaishankar on Monday met Battsetseg Batmunkh in Ulaanbaatar and reviewed progress across a wide range of areas under the India–Mongolia Strategic Partnership.
Jaishankar, who arrived in Mongolia on the first leg of a two-nation visit that will also include South Korea, said he was delighted to meet his Mongolian counterpart.
In a post on X, the minister said the discussions reflected the "warmth, strength and promise" of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two leaders reviewed cooperation in several key areas, including:

  • Development projects
  • Capacity building and training
  • Cultural exchanges
  • Education
  • Security cooperation
  • Coordination in multilateral forums
India and Mongolia share a Strategic Partnership and have steadily expanded collaboration in infrastructure development, connectivity, education, Buddhism-related cultural ties, and international diplomacy.
Jaishankar's visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and advancing ongoing cooperation initiatives. Following his engagements in Mongolia, he is scheduled to travel to South Korea for additional diplomatic meetings.
