Business To Business, Kathmandu, 25th July, 2026: Nepal is preparing to deploy advanced infrared surveillance drones along its southern border to strengthen border security, Home Minister Ramesh Gurung said on Friday.
The minister made the announcement while responding to questions from lawmakers during a meeting of the National Assembly's Federal Empowerment and National Concern Committee.
Gurung said the planned deployment of infrared-equipped drones is aimed at enhancing surveillance capabilities and improving monitoring of the country's southern frontier.
The committee meeting was attended by Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki, Armed Police Force Chief Narayandutta Paudel, and several members of Parliament, who discussed border security and related issues.
The proposed use of advanced surveillance drones is expected to bolster Nepal's efforts to improve border management and strengthen security through the use of modern technology.
