Pak minister meets Iranian counterpart amid Islamabad's mediation efforts in US-Iran conflict

Business To Business, Islamabad, 16th May 2026: Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday held talks in Tehran with his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Mo’meni on bilateral relations and regional developments amid Pakistan’s mediation efforts in the ongoing US-Iran tensions.
According to reports, Pakistan had hosted talks between the United States and Iran last month, but the discussions failed to bridge key differences. A second round of talks is still pending, although both sides are said to be exchanging peace proposals through Islamabad.
Naqvi arrived in Tehran earlier in the day on a two-day official visit and was received at the airport by Mo’meni, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency.
The visit comes amid heightened diplomatic activity in the region as countries seek to prevent further escalation of the conflict and its wider geopolitical and economic consequences.
