Pak PM Sharif warns of risk to economy amid renewed West Asia tensions

Business To Business, Islamabad, 17th July, 2026:   Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday warned that the renewed conflict in West Asia could pose risks to the country's economy and directed authorities to remain fully prepared to deal with any potential challenges arising from the regional situation.
Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to assess the economic impact of the escalating tensions in West Asia, amid continued hostilities involving the United States and Iran.
During the meeting, he instructed relevant authorities to closely monitor developments and ensure preparedness to safeguard Pakistan's economy against any adverse fallout from the prevailing regional uncertainty.
