Business To Business, Islamabad, 10th July, 2026: Pakistan received a record USD 41.6 billion in remittances from overseas workers during the financial year ended June 30, 2026 (FY26), surpassing the country's total export earnings for the same period, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
In a social media post, the central bank said remittance inflows increased 8.6 per cent from USD 38.3 billion in FY25 to USD 41.6 billion in FY26.
Describing the achievement as a milestone, Khurram Schehzad, adviser to Pakistan's finance minister, said the country had recorded its highest-ever annual remittance inflows.
The strong growth in remittances underscores the significant contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the country's economy, providing crucial support to foreign exchange reserves and helping offset external financing pressures.
