Business To Business, Islamabad, 02 August, 2026: Pakistan recorded its deadliest month of 2026 in July, with 606 people killed and 232 injured in terrorist attacks and counter-terrorism operations across the country, according to a report released on Saturday by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
The Islamabad-based think tank attributed the sharp rise in casualties to an increase in terrorist attacks and a corresponding intensification of counter-terrorism operations carried out by security forces.
According to the report, 112 security personnel were killed during the month, marking the highest monthly toll since January 2023 and the second-highest recorded in more than a decade.
The findings underscore a significant deterioration in Pakistan's security situation, with both militant violence and security operations contributing to the surge in casualties.
The report highlights the mounting challenges facing the country's security apparatus as it confronts an escalating wave of militant attacks in multiple regions.
