Business To Business, Islamabad, 22nd May, 2026: Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief and Field Marshal, left for Iran on Friday for a key visit amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran and helping end the conflict in the region.
According to security sources, this is Munir’s second visit to Tehran in just over a month. The trip follows discussions led by Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, who has been in Iran since Wednesday and has held talks with senior Iranian leaders. These meetings reportedly included two rounds of discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Sources said Munir is expected to meet senior Iranian officials to discuss Iran-US negotiations, regional peace efforts, and broader security issues affecting West Asia.
Pakistan has recently intensified diplomatic engagement with both Tehran and Washington as part of efforts to reduce tensions and promote regional stability amid the ongoing conflict.
