PM Modi calls on Italian President Mattarella, reviews bilateral ties

Business To Business, Rome, 20th May, 2026:   Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Sergio Mattarella and discussed ways to further expand the bilateral partnership in areas including trade, investment, technology, critical minerals, artificial intelligence, space and nuclear energy.
Modi, who arrived in Italy on Tuesday night as part of the final leg of his five-nation tour, called on President Mattarella at Quirinale Palace in Rome.
In a social media post after the meeting, Modi said the discussions covered multiple dimensions of the India-Italy partnership, including economic cooperation and cultural ties.
The meeting reflects growing engagement between India and Italy in strategic and emerging sectors such as clean technology, AI, advanced manufacturing and energy cooperation.
