Business Aajkal, SINGAPORE, 13 May 2025: Singapore’s health authorities announced on Tuesday that they are monitoring a recent rise in COVID-19 infections. Despite the increase, officials stated there is no evidence that the circulating virus variants are more transmissible than previous strains.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), COVID-19 cases increased from an estimated 11,100 in the week of April 20 to 26, 2025, to approximately 14,200 cases in the week of April 27 to May 3, 2025.
Hospital admissions have also risen, with average daily COVID-19 hospitalizations increasing from 102 to 133. However, the number of cases in intensive care units (ICU) has decreased slightly, from three to two. Health authorities emphasized that hospitals are currently capable of managing the increased case numbers effectively.
