Business To Business, Singapore, 23rd May, 2026: The government of Singapore has updated its public health guidance to recommend that all adults aged 21 and above undergo at least one HIV test in their lifetime, following an increase in infections reported in 2025.
According to the Communicable Diseases Agency, 166 new HIV cases were recorded among Singapore citizens and permanent residents in 2025. That corresponds to an incidence rate of 3.9 infections per 100,000 residents.
The agency also said that, by the end of 2025, a total of 7,248 Singapore residents were known to be living with HIV, translating to a prevalence rate of 172 infections per 100,000 residents.
Health authorities said the recommendation for one-time lifetime testing aims to improve early detection and treatment, reduce transmission, and address undiagnosed infections. HIV testing in Singapore is available through hospitals, clinics, and anonymous testing services.
