Trump set to headline 'Great American State Fair' after artists drop out over ties

Business To Business, New York, 31st May, 2026:  Organisers of “The Great American State Fair,” a celebration tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, announced on Saturday that Donald Trump will headline the event after several musical performers reportedly withdrew because of its association with him.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump commented on the artists' departures, saying he understood that some performers were getting "the yips" about appearing at the event. He then jokingly suggested that he could replace them himself, referring to "Donald J. Trump" as the person some consider "the Greatest President in History."
The event is being organised by Freedom 250 and is scheduled to take place in June on the National Mall in Washington.
In a statement, Freedom 250 confirmed Trump's participation, saying:
"We are excited to announce that President Trump will personally kick off this historic celebration."
The fair is part of broader commemorations marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. However, the event has also become a focal point in the country's political and cultural divisions, with some artists reportedly choosing not to participate because of its links to Trump.
Trump's appearance is expected to draw significant attention, given his central role in American politics and the high-profile nature of the anniversary celebrations.
