Trump vents about judge who blocked Kennedy Centre renovation and fumes over his legal setbacks

Business To Business, New York, 31st May, 2026:  Donald Trump on Saturday sharply criticised a federal judge who blocked his proposed renovation plans for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, describing him as "an anti-Trump hater."
In a lengthy post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump expressed anger over a ruling issued on Friday by Christopher Cooper.
According to the account, Judge Cooper not only blocked Trump's plan for a major overhaul of the Kennedy Center but also ordered the removal of Trump's name from the institution.
Reacting to the decision, Trump argued that it was "impossible for me to be treated fairly" and linked the ruling to other legal setbacks he has faced, including the rejection of his broad tariff measures by the Supreme Court of the United States earlier this year.
Trump further predicted that the Kennedy Center, which he had proposed closing for a two-year renovation, would "soon be closed, probably never to open again."
The dispute highlights ongoing legal and political battles surrounding Trump's policy initiatives and the extent of presidential authority over federally supported cultural institutions. The Kennedy Center is widely regarded as the premier performing arts venue in the United States, hosting theatre, music, dance, and national cultural events.
