Business To Business, Islamabad, 22nd July, 2026: Pakistan on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the recent escalation in West Asia, urging all sides to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further destabilise the region. The country also reiterated its commitment to playing the role of an honest and sincere mediator.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed Pakistan's concerns during a meeting with a high-level Iranian delegation led by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni at the Prime Minister's Office, according to an official statement.
Separately, Momeni met Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security, and effective border management, the Pakistan Army said in a statement.
