US Supreme Court strikes down Trump's order restricting birthright citizenship

Business To Business, New York, 01st July, 2026:   The US Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down President Donald Trump's executive order seeking to restrict birthright citizenship, reaffirming that the 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to individuals born on American soil.
The court held that the constitutional protection extends to children born in the United States, including those whose parents are in the country unlawfully or on a temporary basis.
Shortly after assuming office for his second term in January last year, Trump had signed an executive order seeking to limit birthright citizenship to children with at least one parent who is legally present in the United States.
The ruling marks a significant constitutional decision, reaffirming the long-standing interpretation of the 14th Amendment and preserving the principle of birthright citizenship in the United States.
