Business To Business, New York, 23rd July, 2026: The United States on Wednesday said it will announce the final responsive action under its Section 301 investigations into 60 trading partners, including India, over issues related to the import of goods produced with forced labour, as early as Thursday, ahead of the expiry of the 10 per cent additional tariffs imposed on all countries.
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told the Senate Finance Committee that the investigations examined the top 60 US trading partners for their alleged failure to adopt and effectively enforce import bans on goods produced using forced labour.
"As soon as tomorrow, USTR will release its final responsive action on its Section 301 investigation of our top 60 trading partners' failure to address international trade in forced goods at their borders," Greer told the committee during the hearing.
