Speaking to the media at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday after returning from a four-day visit to China, Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said that both sides exchanged views on ways to further consolidate Nepal-China relations.
According to Khanal:

  • Nepal and China share a relationship founded on mutual friendship, goodwill, and cooperation.
  • Discussions during the visit reflected common views on strengthening bilateral engagement.

China is one of Nepal's most important development and economic partners. Relations between the two countries encompass:
  • Trade and investment

  • Regional cooperation
Nepal has sought to maintain balanced relations with both its giant neighbors, China and India, while pursuing economic development and regional connectivity.
The visit comes amid continuing efforts by Kathmandu and Beijing to advance bilateral projects and strengthen diplomatic engagement. China has been involved in several infrastructure and development initiatives in Nepal, while Nepal views cooperation with China as an important component of its foreign policy and economic strategy.
