Business To Business, Itanagar, 28th June, 2026: The death toll in the rain-triggered flash flood in Keyi Panyor district rose to three on Sunday after the body of a man was recovered in the adjoining Papum Pare district, officials said.
Search and rescue operations are continuing as authorities work to trace missing persons and assist affected residents.
Officials said incessant rainfall has also triggered floods and landslides across several parts of Arunachal Pradesh, inundating houses, damaging roads and other infrastructure, and disrupting normal life.
Local administrations have launched rescue and evacuation operations in the affected areas to shift residents to safer locations and provide relief.
According to officials, ten districts have been impacted by the heavy rain and related disasters. These are Keyi Panyor district, Papum Pare district, Kra Daadi district, Kurung Kumey district, Lower Subansiri district, Kamle district, Upper Subansiri district, East Siang district, Leparada district and Lower Siang district.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely as heavy rainfall persists, with efforts focused on rescue, evacuation and restoration of damaged infrastructure.
