Business To Business, Guwahati, 15th May 2026: More than 23,000 people have been affected by urban flooding in Assam following heavy rainfall across several parts of the state, officials said on Friday.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, urban floods have been reported from the districts of Kamrup Metropolitan, Sribhumi and Cachar.
The ASDMA said four revenue circles and 12 villages have been inundated, affecting 23,619 people.
The India Meteorological Department has warned of more rainfall in the coming days, raising concerns about further flooding and waterlogging in vulnerable areas.
