Business To Business, New Delhi, 30th May, 2026: Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday met Narendra Modi and briefed him on the early initiatives and priorities of the newly formed NDA government in Assam.
Sarma, who took oath as chief minister for a second consecutive term on May 12, is leading the third successive government of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Assam.
The meeting was confirmed by the Prime Minister's Office, which stated in a post on X that the Assam chief minister had met the prime minister.
According to Sarma, he briefed Modi on the "headstart" being made by the NDA 3.0 government in the state, indicating discussions on governance priorities, development initiatives, and the implementation of the new administration's agenda.
The meeting comes shortly after the formation of the new Assam government and reflects ongoing coordination between the state leadership and the Centre on development and policy matters.
