Assam flood: Over 4.4 lakh people affected in 6 districts, toll remains at 68

Business To Business, Guwahati, 28th July, 2026:   The flood situation in Assam improved marginally on Monday, with no fresh fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, though more than 4.45 lakh people continue to be affected across six districts, according to an official bulletin.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said 4,45,495 people have been impacted in the districts of Sivasagar, Golaghat, Charaideo, Jorhat, Nagaon and Kamrup (Metropolitan).
The latest figures mark an improvement from Sunday, when over 5.24 lakh people were affected across five districts.
Despite the easing situation, floodwaters continue to affect hundreds of thousands of residents, and authorities remain engaged in relief and monitoring efforts in the impacted areas.
