Bengal's economy must be strengthened and investment brought to create jobs: Suvendu
Business To Business, Kolkata, 14th June, 2026: Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday emphasized the need to strengthen West Bengal's economy by attracting investment and creating employment opportunities, while asserting that improvements in law and order under the BJP-led state government were already yielding positive results.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Bengal Vikas Forum, Adhikari said the government was focused on creating a more business-friendly environment to encourage industrial growth and investment.
According to the chief minister, key elements of this strategy include:
- Promoting an industry-friendly governance framework.
- Implementing flexible land policies to facilitate investment projects.
- Strengthening law and order to improve investor confidence.
- Generating employment through increased industrial and business activity.
"Bengal's economy must be strengthened. Investment has to be brought in through a business-friendly, industry-friendly government with a flexible land policy and good law and order," Adhikari said.
He argued that improved policing and a more stable law-and-order situation were helping create conditions conducive to economic development and private investment.
The remarks reflect the state government's broader focus on economic growth, industrialization, and job creation following the political transition in West Bengal. Attracting domestic and foreign investment remains a key objective for the government as it seeks to boost manufacturing, infrastructure development, and employment generation across the state.
