Besides incentives, new EV policy focuses on transport sector reforms: Delhi CM

Business To Business, New Delhi, 30th June, 2026:   Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said the EV Policy 2026 goes beyond providing incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles and offers a comprehensive roadmap for structural reforms in the transport sector.
According to officials, the Delhi EV Policy 2026 received approval from Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday. The transport department will now issue the official notification and launch a dedicated portal for its implementation.
Gupta said the policy lays out a clear roadmap until March 2030, focusing on structural reforms in the transport sector, expansion of charging infrastructure, strengthening of the institutional framework, and the phased electrification of various vehicle categories.
The policy is aimed at accelerating electric vehicle adoption while creating the infrastructure and regulatory framework needed to support Delhi's transition towards cleaner and more sustainable mobility.
