Bihar CM condoles deaths of IAF personnel in Jorhat crash

Business To Business, Patna, 13th June, 2026:    Samrat Choudhary on Saturday expressed grief over the death of five personnel of the Indian Air Force who were killed in the crash of an Antonov An-32 near Jorhat.
The Russian-origin transport aircraft met with an accident during a routine sortie at around 10 a.m., resulting in the deaths of five air force personnel. One crew member, the co-pilot, survived and is undergoing treatment.
In a post on X, Choudhary paid tribute to the deceased personnel and praised their service to the nation.
The five personnel who lost their lives were identified as:

  • Prashant Singh
  • Shubham Kumar
  • Jitendra Sharma
  • Khemaram Kumawat
  • Danish Alam
Choudhary said:
"The nation salutes their courage, dedication and supreme sacrifice."
The tragedy has prompted condolences from political leaders and citizens across the country. The loss of the five servicemen during an operational training flight has been described as a significant loss to the armed forces.
The Indian Air Force is expected to conduct a detailed inquiry into the crash to determine the circumstances that led to the accident. Standard investigations typically examine technical, operational, maintenance, and environmental factors.
