Business To Business, Agartala, 9th May, 2026: The bodies of two suspected Bangladeshi smugglers who were shot dead by the Border Security Force in Tripura’s Sepahijala district were handed over to their relatives through the Kamalasagar Border Outpost in the presence of BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh officials, police said on Saturday.
According to police, BSF personnel during routine patrolling on Friday night spotted a group of around 15 Bangladeshi nationals allegedly smuggling fish fingerlings at Pathariadwar.
Ujjal Choudhury said that when challenged, the alleged smugglers started pelting stones at the troops, following which BSF personnel opened fire in self-defence using Pump Action Guns (PAG), resulting in two suspected smugglers collapsing on the spot.
