Cabinet approves 3 projects of Railway Ministry costing Rs 23,437 cr

Business To Business, New Delhi, 5th May, 2026: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved three major railway infrastructure projects worth about ₹23,437 crore under the Ministry of Railways.
The projects include the construction of third and fourth railway lines on key routes: Nagda–Mathura, Guntakal–Wadi, and Burhwal–Sitapur.
According to an official statement, the enhanced line capacity is expected to significantly improve mobility, boost operational efficiency, and increase service reliability for Indian Railways.
“These multi-tracking projects will streamline operations and help ease congestion across critical routes,” the government said in a press note.
