CBSE assures transparency in Class 12 evaluation, says re-evaluation process to continue

Business To Business, New Delhi, 15th May 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Friday defended its on-screen marking (OSM) system amid concerns over the evaluation of Class 12 examination papers, stating that the mechanism was introduced to ensure transparency, fairness and consistency in assessment.
The board also reiterated that students would continue to have access to the re-evaluation process.
The clarification came after several posts on social media raised concerns following the declaration of Class 12 results, particularly over marks awarded in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
In a post on X, the CBSE said it had observed discussions and allegations related to the assessment process under the OSM system after the results announcement.
The board maintained that the digital evaluation system was designed to standardise assessment practices and reduce inconsistencies in marking across evaluators and examination centres.
