Central team visits Arunachal's flood-hit Keyi Panyor to assess damage

Business To Business, Itanagar, 08th July, 2026:    An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) on Wednesday visited the flood-affected Keyi Panyor district of Arunachal Pradesh to assess the extent of damage caused by recent floods and landslides and evaluate the requirement for additional financial assistance from the Centre, officials said.
The team was led by Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Nishtha Tiwari and was accompanied by Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Management Secretary Dani Salu during the assessment visit.
Travelling by road from the state capital, Itanagar, the delegation inspected several landslide-hit locations and damaged road stretches along the route, where breaches have severely disrupted connectivity and affected the movement of people and essential supplies.
During the visit, the team reviewed the impact of the floods and landslides on infrastructure, public utilities and local communities, while interacting with district officials to obtain a detailed assessment of the situation.
The findings of the Inter-Ministerial Central Team will form the basis for evaluating the state's request for additional central assistance under the applicable disaster relief mechanisms.
The visit is part of the Centre's process for assessing the impact of natural disasters and determining the need for financial support to assist affected states in undertaking relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction measures.
