Business To Business, Patna, 19th June, 2026: Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday announced that the Central Government has allocated a record budget of more than ₹10,000 crore for the development of railway infrastructure in Bihar during the current financial year.
During his day-long visit to the state, Vaishnaw flagged off several new and extended rail services, including the Chapra–Delhi (Anand Vihar) Express, the Mau–Delhi (Anand Vihar) Express, and the extension of the Doohri Ghat–Aunrihar MEMU service up to Varanasi.
The launch event was held in Saran and was attended by Samrat Choudhary. A. K. Sharma participated virtually.
The railway minister said the enhanced allocation reflects the Centre's focus on strengthening rail connectivity, modernizing infrastructure, improving passenger services, and supporting economic development across Bihar. The funding is expected to be used for new rail lines, station redevelopment, capacity expansion, electrification, and other infrastructure projects in the state.
