Business To Business, New Delhi, 29th July, 2026: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj on Wednesday launched DAANVEER, a citizen participation initiative that enables individuals and organisations to voluntarily donate computers to gram panchayats through the 'Meri Panchayat' mobile application, with the aim of strengthening digital infrastructure at the grassroots.
Launching the initiative, Panchayati Raj Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj said DAANVEER seeks to ensure that every gram panchayat is digitally equipped, connected and future-ready while providing a transparent and accountable platform for citizens to support local institutions.
Bharadwaj described the initiative as a step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, saying it offers citizens, including members of the Indian diaspora, an opportunity to contribute to the development of their native villages.
The initiative is expected to enhance digital access and governance at the village level by encouraging public participation in equipping gram panchayats with essential computer infrastructure through a transparent donation mechanism.
