Dalai Lama discharged after successful knee replacement surgery in Delhi
Business To Business, New Delhi, 12th June, 2026: Dalai Lama was discharged from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Friday after successfully undergoing a left knee replacement surgery earlier this week.
According to a medical update shared on his official X account, the procedure was performed on June 8 in New Delhi.
Successful Surgery and Recovery
Dr. Rajesh Malhotra said the Tibetan spiritual leader remained stable throughout his treatment and recovery period.
In the statement, Dr. Malhotra noted:
"His Holiness is stable and expected to make a full recovery. He was discharged on Friday morning."
The surgery was undertaken to address issues with the Dalai Lama's left knee, a condition that had affected his mobility in recent years.
Doctors reported that:
