Delhi Police may take action on abusive content made against Modi during CJP protest

Business To Business, New Delhi, 27th July, 2026:    Delhi Police is considering action against social media posts it considers "objectionable" and "abusive" towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar, a police source said on Sunday.
According to the source, the police may issue notices to social media platforms seeking the removal of posts, videos and comments that are found to violate applicable norms.
"After review of content uploaded during and after the protest, police will issue notices to remove such posts which are abusive in nature," the source said.
The review is part of an examination of online content related to the protest. Officials are assessing material shared during and after the demonstration before deciding on further action.
There was no official statement from Delhi Police at the time of reporting regarding the proposed notices or the legal provisions under which any action may be initiated.
