Business To Business, New Delhi, 11th July, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India's pace of development is "unprecedented" despite global challenges, asserting that the country is emerging as a source of new development models for the world.
Addressing the Indian community at the 'Kia Ora Modi' event in Auckland, which was also attended by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Modi highlighted the growing partnership between the two countries.
He said the relationship between India and New Zealand is founded on shared values, enduring friendship, cherished memories and a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
Referring to India's economic progress, Modi said:
"Amidst global challenges, the speed at which India is developing is unprecedented. Today, India is the world's fastest-growing major economy."
His remarks were met with applause from members of the Indian diaspora attending the event.
The prime minister also underlined India's expanding global role, saying the country is not only achieving rapid economic growth but is also offering innovative models of development that can benefit the international community.
