Business To Business, Chandigarh, 17th June, 2026: Manpreet Singh Ayali, a leader of Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), on Wednesday said that every directive issued by the Akal Takht is binding on him and would be accepted “in letter and spirit”.
Speaking to reporters in Punjab, Ayali said:
“We bow before Akal Takht Sahib. Whatever order is issued by the Akal Takht, we will accept it with humility and respect.”
Ayali made the remarks while accompanied by Tarsem Singh, the father of Amritpal Singh.
When asked whether he would appear before the Akal Takht following the summons issued by Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj to Sikh MLAs, Ayali reiterated his respect for the institution and indicated his willingness to comply with its directions.
The statement comes amid heightened political and religious attention in Punjab, where the Akal Takht's directives often carry considerable moral and community authority among Sikhs. Ayali's remarks signal that he does not intend to challenge the institution's authority and is prepared to respond to the summons issued by the Jathedar.
