Business To Business, Kolkata, 6th June, 2026: Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday said that the BJP government would undertake major development initiatives to improve infrastructure and facilities at some of West Bengal's most prominent religious sites.
Speaking at a programme titled "A Celebration of Sanatan Consciousness and the Awakening of Ram Rajya in Banga Bhoomi", Adhikari announced plans to upgrade facilities at the renowned Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Kalighat Kali Temple.
He also said that extensive preparations would be made for the annual Shravani Mela to improve the experience for pilgrims and visitors.
According to the Chief Minister, efforts are already underway to develop the Ganga Sagar Mela to international standards. He stated that infrastructure, amenities, and visitor facilities at major religious destinations across the state would be significantly enhanced as part of the government's broader development agenda.
The announcements form part of the state government's stated plans to strengthen religious tourism, improve pilgrimage infrastructure, and attract more visitors to important spiritual and cultural sites in West Bengal.
