Business To Business, New Delhi, 10th May, 2026: Amit Shah on Sunday directed that Flood Crisis Management Teams (FCMTs) be constituted and activated in every state to strengthen disaster response mechanisms.
During a high-level review meeting on preparedness for floods and heatwaves across the country, Shah stressed the need to work towards achieving “zero-casualty” disaster management.
According to a government statement, the Union home minister also said that at least 60 lakes should be brought under a plan to develop early-warning systems for 30 high-risk lakes located in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim with support from the National Disaster Management Authority.
