Business To Business, Bengaluru, 22nd July, 2026: Eleven people have been arrested after street vendors allegedly attacked officials and employees of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) during an anti-encroachment drive in Bengaluru's Shivaji Nagar, police said.
The incident occurred when a GBA team reached Shivaji Nagar to clear encroachments from a footpath. According to the police, some individuals turned violent during the operation.
The attackers allegedly dragged Assistant Executive Engineer Gowtham and several other officials onto the road before assaulting them. Police said all 11 accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
