India offers combination of scale, talent and growth opportunities through GIFT city: Sitharaman

Business To Business, Gandhinagar, 22nd May, 2026:  Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, said on Friday that India offers a unique combination of scale, technology, talent, and growth opportunities through GIFT City in Gujarat.
Sitharaman chaired a high-level review meeting on GIFT City and its expanding international financial services ecosystem.
GIFT City, or Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, is India’s first operational smart city and International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), located in the state capital Gandhinagar.
The finance minister highlighted the government’s efforts to strengthen GIFT City as a global financial and technology hub capable of attracting international investment, financial institutions, fintech firms, and innovation-driven businesses.
GIFT City has emerged as a key component of India’s strategy to compete with major international financial centres by offering regulatory incentives, world-class infrastructure, and a dedicated ecosystem for global financial services.
