Business To Business, New Delhi, 23rd July, 2026: India will host the BRICS Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) on Friday, marking the culmination of a year-long process of technical consultations and consensus-building among the bloc's 10 member countries, officials said.
Under India's BRICS Chairship in 2026, ministers and heads of delegations from all 10 member nations will discuss measures to strengthen disaster resilience, enhance cooperation, promote innovation, support sustainable development and implement the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Work Plan (2025–2028), according to a government statement.
The meeting, organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), will conclude with the adoption of a joint statement reaffirming the member countries' collective commitment to strengthening cooperation on disaster risk reduction.
