India, Uzbekistan eyeing expansion of ties in mining, energy sectors
Business To Business, New Delhi, 03 August, 2026: India and Uzbekistan on Monday agreed to deepen cooperation in defence, trade, mining and energy during talks between S. Jaishankar and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov in New Delhi.
The two foreign ministers held a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across a range of strategic and economic sectors.
Key outcomes of the meeting included:
- Agreement to enhance collaboration in defence.
- Focus on expanding trade and economic ties.
- Greater cooperation in the mining sector.
- Strengthening partnerships in energy.
The ministers also exchanged views on
key regional and international developments, reflecting the close coordination between the two countries on issues of mutual interest.
Bakhtiyor Saidov is currently on an official visit to
New Delhi, with the discussions aimed at further advancing the long-standing partnership between India and Uzbekistan.
