Indian Army contingent, naval band, INS Tarkash to grace Seychelles National Day celebrations

Business To Business, New Delhi, 28th June, 2026:  An Indian Armed Forces contingent, along with frontline naval assets, will participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of the National Day of Seychelles on June 29, underscoring the close defence and strategic ties between the two countries.
The Indian Army contingent, drawn from the Assam Regiment, will take part in the celebrations alongside the Indian Navy's frontline stealth frigate INS Tarkash and the indigenously built survey vessel INS Ikshak.
An Indian Navy marching contingent and a naval band will also participate in the ceremonial events marking the 50th anniversary of Seychelles' National Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day state visit to Seychelles beginning June 27, will attend the celebrations as the Guest of Honour.
During the visit, Modi is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie to review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation and discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The participation of Indian military personnel, naval ships and ceremonial contingents reflects the longstanding defence partnership and growing maritime cooperation between India and Seychelles in the strategically significant Indian Ocean region.
