Indore water contamination: MP CM Yadav orders disciplinary action against officials

Business To Business, Indore, 02 January, 2026: Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, on Friday mandated disciplinary measures against senior officials of the Indore Municipal Corporation, which includes the immediate reassignment of an additional commissioner from the city, in response to the diarrhoea and vomiting outbreak attributed to contaminated drinking water.

The Chief Minister stated that the government is also implementing corrective actions in other regions of the state, and officials have been directed to develop a time-sensitive plan to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

Local residents have reported that 15 individuals, including a six-month-old infant, have died as a result of the outbreak associated with contaminated drinking water in the Bhagirathpura locality of Indore. Nevertheless, the health department has not validated this assertion, indicating that only four fatalities have been confirmed due to the outbreak.
