Business To Business, Dras, 26th July, 2026: On the eve of the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said the "intent of infiltrators" has remained unchanged since the 1999 Kargil conflict, asserting that the Indian Army is fully prepared to meet any such challenge.
Addressing Army personnel at a Shaurya Bhoj in Dras, Singh praised the armed forces for their vigilance and professionalism, saying the country's security remains in capable hands.
He also highlighted the government's focus on strengthening the military, stating that special emphasis has been placed on the modernisation of the armed forces to ensure they receive the latest equipment and the best possible training.
"Our endeavour is that the armed forces are equipped with the latest technology and receive the finest training," the Defence Minister said.
Singh arrived in Dras on Saturday evening to participate in Shaurya Sandhya, a commemorative event at the Kargil War Memorial held as part of the two-day programme marking Kargil Vijay Diwas, which honours the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who fought in Operation Vijay in 1999.
