Business To Business, Srinagar, 25th June, 2026: Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Thursday launched "Project Hawk Eye", a comprehensive surveillance and security initiative aimed at ensuring the safe and peaceful conduct of the annual Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3.
According to a police spokesperson, the initiative has been designed to maintain round-the-clock vigilance from both the air and the ground along the entire pilgrimage route.
As part of Project Hawk Eye, police have established a multi-layered security and surveillance network by combining advanced technological systems with strategic deployment of security personnel.
The integrated framework is intended to strengthen monitoring capabilities, enhance threat detection and enable swift response to any security challenges during the yatra.
Officials said the initiative reflects the administration's commitment to ensuring the safety of pilgrims and maintaining law and order throughout the duration of the annual pilgrimage, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country.
The deployment of enhanced surveillance measures comes as security agencies intensify preparations ahead of the commencement of the yatra, one of the most significant religious pilgrimages in India.
