J'khand CM emphasises increasing gold production from state mines
Business To Business, Ranci, 3rd June, 2026: Hemant Soren on Wednesday emphasized the need to increase gold production from Jharkhand's mines as part of efforts to accelerate the state's economic development.
During a review of the state's seven operational gold mines, Soren directed officials to give special attention to the gold mining sector and explore measures to enhance its contribution to the economy.
According to an official statement, the Chief Minister called for:
- Technological upgradation to improve mining efficiency and productivity.
- Greater investment in the sector to support expansion and modernization.
- Effective management practices to optimize operations and resource utilization.
- A focused strategy to strengthen the overall gold mining ecosystem in the state.
Jharkhand is rich in mineral resources and mining remains a significant contributor to its economy. The government's emphasis on gold production reflects an effort to diversify and maximize the value of the state's mineral wealth while generating employment and industrial growth.
Soren's review suggests that the state government sees untapped potential in the gold mining sector and intends to leverage improved technology, investment, and governance to boost output. Increased production could contribute to revenue generation, local economic activity, and broader development initiatives in mineral-rich regions of the state.
