Business To Business, New Delhi, 26th July, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to the soldiers who fought in the 1999 Kargil War, saying their courage under the most challenging conditions will forever remain a source of national pride.
Marking Kargil Vijay Diwas, which commemorates India's victory in Operation Vijay, the Prime Minister expressed the nation's gratitude to the armed forces for their exceptional bravery and dedication to safeguarding the country's sovereignty.
In a post on X, Modi said, "The nation expresses gratitude to our brave soldiers for their extraordinary courage and commitment towards securing India."
He added that "their valour in the face of the most formidable conditions will forever remain a source of national pride" and that "their unwavering patriotism and devotion to duty will continue to inspire generations."
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to honour the sacrifices of the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil conflict and to commemorate India's victory in reclaiming strategic positions from infiltrators in 1999.
