The meeting focused on a comprehensive review of facilities and infrastructure along the Pahalgam route, one of the two principal tracks used by pilgrims to reach the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine.
Key aspects reviewed included:
- Pilgrim accommodation and shelter facilities.
- Healthcare and emergency medical services.
- Sanitation and waste-management arrangements.
- Drinking water and power supply.
- Transportation and traffic management.
- Communication facilities.
- Security and disaster-response preparedness.
Officials also reviewed arrangements at other important locations connected with the yatra to ensure coordinated management across the route.
The Amarnath Yatra is one of India's most significant annual Hindu pilgrimages, attracting thousands of devotees who travel to the cave shrine located in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir.
