Business Aajkal, SRINAGAR, 14 May 2025: On Wednesday, an official announced a significant setback for the terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as three of its members were killed in an encounter in Shopian district, South Kashmir. Among the slain was Shahid Kuttay, identified as the 'Operations Commander' for LeT.
Kuttay was known for leading terrorist recruitment efforts across the Kashmir valley and was responsible for enticing many local youths to join the terror group. The other two militants killed in the operation were Adnan Shafi, from Vanduna Melhura in Shopian, and Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, from Murran in Pulwama district.
The encounter took place in the Shukroo Keller area on Tuesday, marking a significant blow to LeT’s operational capabilities in the region.
